v0.88.10
Released Oct 28, 2026.
Patch Changes
- Pasted and dropped files now go to a folder per document by default,
./{{filename}}.assets, and the attachment setting is one path field. Update collaborators first: 0.86.18 and earlier reject/foldervalues. - Ensure cloning into an existing OpenKnowledge project initializes the new checkout without changing the enclosing project's files.
- Screen readers now announce a name for each source and code editor, such as Markdown source mode, text files and Mermaid diagram source.
- Resolve explicit
deinitpaths relative to the command's working directory so ancestor project detection cannot remove a different project's setup. - OpenKnowledge Desktop now builds with the stable electron-vite 6.0.0 release instead of a beta, with no change to the app itself.
- An email link followed directly by an underscore, such as
a@b.combefore_case, now saves in a form that opens again as the same link. Before, the file opened as a link to a different address. - An empty bullet, numbered item, heading or quote made by typing its marker now saves as that block, not as an escaped literal such as
\*. - Git operations that OpenKnowledge authenticates start faster: its credential helper now answers about six times faster, and git no longer prints "unknown command 'store'" or "unknown command 'erase'" after each fetch or push.
- Pasted formatted text and links now stay in the bullet, heading, quote or paragraph at the cursor instead of moving to a new paragraph outside it. A link pasted right next to a word stays a link.
- Slash-menu and component descriptions now describe each feature directly instead of comparing it to other apps.
- Typing right after Enter keeps the caret after the first character, so a fast
*or-turns into a bullet instead of landing before the marker. - Keep
ok clone --jsonandok init --jsonoutput parseable by sending initialization diagnostics to stderr. - Opening a file or skill from the sidebar keeps it in the preview tab instead of sometimes pinning it.
- Contributor typechecks now run on
tsrs, a Rust port of the TypeScript compiler. On Windows or an Intel Mac, setTSRS_BINARYfirst, as the contributing guide explains.
